    Position Description

    U.S. Security Associates is seeking a Instructional Designer to join our Award Winning Training Team. U.S. Security Associates employs more than 50,000 nationwide and is one of the fastest growing security providers in the nation. 

    This is an exciting opportunity for a training and development professional that wants to take their career to the next level. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Instructional Systems Designer to help us build our award-winning training programs. 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Act as learning design consultant within U.S. Security Associates, working with Training Leadership and Subject Matter Experts to analyze training needs and prepare terminal and learning objectives and course outlines. 
    • Using Instructional System Design principles will analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training needs, materials, and methods. 
    • Design curriculum/courseware and recommend the appropriate form of training delivery including, but not limited to, eLearning, traditional classroom training, and/or interactive/performance training. 
    • Develop storyboards for eLearning courses to include, but not limited to, course slides, narrative, interactions, and animations. 
    • Develops tools and processes to measure the effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure solutions meet employee skill development requirements. Guides the business on strategy implementation in the pursuit of business solutions. 
    • Collaborates with internal business partners to validate that curriculum solutions align to business priorities and strategy for operational effectiveness. Participates in peer to peer reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines. 
    • Develop courseware material based on the specific course design to include instructor guides, participant guides, presentation materials, job aids, training aids, and evaluations that will effectively train our Associates. 
    • Develop coaching and manager guides to ensure long-term knowledge acquisition and application to the job. 
    • Coordinate course pilot and train-the-trainer sessions. 
    • Other duties as assigned 
    Required Qualifications 
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with three years of instructional systems design experience. 
    • Must demonstrate a high level of competence in using various Microsoft Office products including Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with eLearning development software, specifically Storyline 2 and Adobe Captivate. 
    • Strong project management capability, able to multi-task and be organized, able to research and analyze information to make appropriate decisions. 
    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. 
    • Ability to solve problems and work across department boundaries independently. 
    • Ability to quickly build credibility and collaborative relationships with people across departments and levels. 
    Preferred Qualifications: 
    • Experience with the military, law enforcement or the security industry. 
    • Fluency in Spanish is desired. 
    • Knowledge of the SumTotal Learning Management System.
