Learn to harness this powerful learning tool even if you have a limited budget, resources, or experience.

Join Jonathan Halls, author of Rapid Video Development for Trainers, in this intensive and practical one-day workshop that will give you the foundational skills to create quality video content. You will learn Halls' rapid media technique and secrets used by professional video developers that will save you time without compromising quality.

Roll up your sleeves and be prepared to design, shoot, and produce your own video utilizing a lightweight camera provided that you will get to keep after the course.

Learning Objectives:

  • Plan a short but engaging learning video that achieves a learning objective
  • Shoot the video footage necessary to produce that learning video using a lightweight consumer camera with auto functions that is quick and easy to learn. (Camera provided)
  • Edit the footage into a short video package that can be posted online
  • Explain the psychology of video and how it conveys meaning
  • Explain how video can facilitate learning

 

About Jonathan HallsJonathan Halls

Australian-born Jonathan Halls has taught media and learning for more than 20 years. He has also worked as a talk show host, journalist, trainer, and media executive. Moving to London, he was hired to run the BBC's New Media Training Unit (Core skills), then promoted to become the learning executive in charge of production training in television, radio ops, and new media.

Jonathan has taught thousands of media professionals around the globe who work in newspapers, radio, and television. Today he is based in Northern Virginia and Principal of Jonathan Halls & Associates. He is an adjunct professor at George Washington University. Jonathan is active in the ASTD community, having been on the planning committees for both ASTD ICE and TechKnowledge. He has also been on the review panel for the ASTD BEST Awards for the past three years and was founding president of ASTD's UK Global Network.

Jonathan divides his time between teaching media for non-media professionals and running workshops on leadership and change. He is the author of Rapid Video Development for Trainers (2012) and the forthcoming books, Creativity in 3 Steps: Making Workplace Innovation a Habit and Podcasting for Politicos, Educators and Marketers.

 

 

Note: This is a hands-on, interactive workshop so space is limited to 30 attendees. Includes lunch with a comprehensive workbook and camera.
