Presenter:  Ann Lear is the Manager of the GEICO Professional Development Center, at Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, Georgia.  In this role she is responsible for working with a variety of businesses to identify training needs and then developing training programs to meet those needs.  She also helps to market the services of the Economic Development office of CGTC, including conducting labor and economic research and matching that information with the needs of the community to help with the development of new programs to meet future needs.

Over the past 5 years, however, Ann’s main responsibility has been conducting ACT WorkKeys Job Profiles within the CGTC service delivery area.  During the course of that time Ann has completed over 65 profiles.  Ann was awarded Georgia Profiler of the Year for 2009 by the Honorable Sonny Purdue, Governor, for conducting 27 profiles in a single year.  She also has served as a Profiler Mentor for ACT in the State of Georgia.

During this time she won several awards, including the Statewide Best of the Best in Total Quality Management, awarded by the Honorable Lawton Chiles, Governor of Florida, for leading a team to redesign a major staff training program.  She has also been inducted as a Kentucky Colonel by the Honorable Paul Paton, Governor of Kentucky, for her work in Adult Literacy through Kentucky Educational Television in Florida and Georgia.
