Session Description:

Learning Technologies is defined as identifying, selecting, and applying a variety of learning technologies; adapting learning technologies; and matching the appropriate technology to the specific learning opportunity or challenge at hand.

Facilitator:

Laurie Gilmore, CPLP

Laurie is a Workplace Learning Professional who values helping others learn, enabling people and organizations to succeed. 

Currently, Laurie helps clients convert traditional instructor led training to e-learning, using both Articulate Studio and Storyline software.  She also creates audio tours and podcasts to support clients with mobile learning needs.

Previously, she managed the classroom, mobile, and virtual learning solutions of the commercial sales division of Rollins, Inc.  She began the use of corporate podcasting to reach geographically dispersed employees and successfully utilized virtual training to deliver product knowledge training.  She is adept at managing and facilitating programs, measuring results, and marketing their success.

She has worked within the hospitality industry as a Training Manager, Talent Manager, and General Manager of an award-winning hotel.  She has the unique perspective of balancing operational management experience with in-depth knowledge of adult learning principles.

Laurie received a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of Georgia.  She is one of the first 250 people to receive ASTD’s Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation and also holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.

Note: The Final Session (TBA) will be through a separate event registration.

Non-members are welcome to join our study group and attend all sessions, except the Final Session, for a one-time charge of $90.

It is recommended study group participants purchase or have access to the ASTD Learning System.
